Former First Lady Michelle Obama offers a rare glimpse into her life. From growing up in Chicago, to meeting Barack Obama and moving into The White House. The grass is not always greener on the other side. Even when married to the most powerful man in the world, Michelle Obama still felt trapped. Struggling with her identity, Mrs. Obama shares her powerful story with the world.

Some argue that this book is just Obama patting herself on her back. I disagree; I think she is provoking the reader to look inside themselves and search their soul like she has done over her lifetime. She teaches many phenomenal lessons, like learning to communicate your needs, listening to your intuition, and always placing family first.

While extremely interesting through the first three-fourths of the book, the last fourth of the book rings flat.

Highly recommend to anyone struggling to find their identity, interested in politics or simply wants to hear a great love story.
